AFPS08 Little owl in an oak tree at dawn in South Shropshire

‘It took three months of working with landowners, chasing the right weather, setting up my hide next to the magical oak tree and trusting the forecast for a clear dawn. The resident little owls were flighty so I had to walk in under cover of darkness. It was worth it as the dawn light began to spread up the tree and at just the right moment when the bark turned to gold, little owl came out to perch on its favourite spot.
