“The Clouded Yellow butterfly is one of our most colourful migrants, sometimes turning up in the UK in large numbers all the way from  southern Europe and Africa. I had heard that there were a few at Venus Pool nature reserve near Shrewsbury and waited for a sunny afternoon to do my own Shropshire Safari. They can be quite flighty and shy but I was at last able to get the ‘lift-off’ moment as it flew away from feeding on a sprig of purple Lucerne”
