AFP118 Sunrise on the Long Mynd with wild pony, Shropshire

‘I got up at 5 am and checked if the cold conditions of the night before had produced a mist. The signs were good and it was worth the drive to the Mynd and then the steep climb out and above the mist to grab the pre-dawn light – especially when one of the foals from the population of wild ponies on the Long Mynd came into view, setting off the backdrop of Caer Caradoc and Ragleth Hill. The light was so intense, I had to check the back of my camera to reassure me that yes, this was one of the most vibrant dawns I have ever witnessed in the Shropshire Hills’
