Goldfinch scares off the chaffinch in our garden in Shropshire

“When the snows came in last winter, I set up an outdoor studio in my garden – protecting my flash speedlites with Ziploc bags, setting up hidden seeds in a nice looking old gate post that had been thrown away and praying for lots of feeding behaviour to take place as I photographed from the comfort of my kitchen through double glazed glass. Goldfinches always love a good scrap and this beauty was quite happy to warn off an approaching chaffinch. I was even more excited to see that flash had frozen the snow so you can see individual snowflakes in this shot. Published in Digital Camera”
