AFP43 Tawny owl just before sunset
Photography by Andrew Fusek Peters
"The tawny owls had bred on this track near Clun but the thick trees and excellent camouflage meant most of my visits were fruitless. Generally, these owls are more active in the evening and at dusk, so I came back on a perfect early evening and after much searching found one of the parents roosting high in a tree. For a few minutes, the evening light moved and its head was perfectly framed. Silent shutter on my camera meant that the owl seemed unperturbed by my presence."
