“I love little owl, especially the fact that it is a Victorian incomer, a deliberate introduction with the thought that it would be a pretty addition to the landscape.There are fossil records which show that we had little owls during the last two ice ages but whatever the history, I admire the way they have adapted to our environment. In this case, that means a run down farm building where the farmer is retired. Little owls are the wise owl of Athena, and it was an honour to sit quietly in my car watching their comings and goings in the evening light.
