AFP111 Journey of the Stars
Shropshire Landscape greeting card.
Photography by Andrew Fusek Peters
“Who would know that you could squeeze a time lapse of 150 long exposure photos into one single photograph? Lightspout Waterfall, high on the Long Mynd is a different destination by night. Good boots, warm clothes and powerful head-torches are in order. I had thought of this shot two years before the night when conditions were finally right. This involved clambering round in the very wet and watery dark, with the aim of framing both waterfall and stars. Little did I know that the final result, with the stars rotating round Polaris, the north star, would look like a perfectly posed painting.
